Club Barbet Canada - Register of Merit

Register of Merit Award

All members of Club Barbet Canada are eligible for the Award of Merit.

The Award of Merit and the Award of Merit Excellent have been created to recognize the outstanding contribution, of a male or female dog, to the Barbet breed in Canada, through the achievements of their offspring.

A plaque with the name of the winning Barbet and a congratulatory letter will be presented to the owner during the Club Barbet National Specialty. In the years that that the Specialty is not held, awards are given out at the Annual General Meeting. The award is mailed to recipients who are unable to receive it in person.

Requirements for Sires

Award of Merit

To qualify, sires must have:

--Seven CKC titled offspring

--Each offspring must have earned one of the following titles: CKC Champion in Conformation, or CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working certificate Excellent.

Award of Merit Excellent

To qualify, sires must have:

Fourteen CKC titled offspring of which;

--Eleven offspring that have earned the title of CKC Champion in Conformation

--Three offspring must have earned CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working Certificate Excellent.

Requirements for Dams

Award of Merit

To qualify, Dams must have:

--Five CKC titled offspring

--Each offspring must have earned one of the following titles: CKC Champion in Conformation, or CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working Certificate Excellent.

Award of Merit Excellent

To qualify, dams must have:

--Ten CKC titled offspring of which;

--Seven offspring that have earned the title of CKC Champion in Conformation

--Three of the offspring must have earned CKC Working Certificate, or Working Certificate Intermediate, or Working certificate Excellent.

Rules

1.This is a once in a lifetime award. The owner or breeder of the dog must apply in order to be considered.

2.All applicants must be members in good standing of the Club Barbet Canada, for at least 12 months prior to the application.

3.To be considered, the application, together with copies of all documents, as verified by the CKC, must be submitted to the Awards Coordinator, by mail or e-mail. Please do not send original documents, as submissions will not be returned.

4.The names, dates, and locations of CKC titles earned must be provided to the Awards Coordinator as proof of certification obtained by the Barbet.

The CCC titles accepted

--CKC Conformation Certificate

--CKC Working Certificate (WC)

--CKC Working Certificate Intermediate (WCI)

--CKC Working Certificate Excellent (WCX)
